Jacob Jackson
(He/Him/His)
Lic. Acu.
Jacob Jackson is a Maryland Licensed Acupuncturist who brings a thoughtful, whole-person approach to care—blending both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Worsley Five Element Acupuncture. He earned his Master’s degree in Acupuncture from the Maryland University of Integrative Health in April 2025, where he trained in this unique combination of styles.
While Traditional Chinese Medicine supports the physical body, Five Element Acupuncture places a deeper focus on mental, emotional, and spiritual balance. Together, they create a powerful, well-rounded approach designed to help patients move forward—physically, mentally, and energetically.
Before becoming an acupuncturist, Jacob worked alongside a chiropractor guiding patients through physical therapy and recovery. This hands-on experience gave him a strong foundation in pain management and musculoskeletal care. He also holds training in Holistic Nutrition and Health Coaching through the NutraPhoria School of Holistic Nutrition, allowing him to support patients beyond the treatment room.
Jacob’s path into acupuncture is deeply personal. After years of struggling with anxiety and unexplained health challenges, he found himself searching for something more than what conventional care could offer. Through that journey, he discovered not only healing—but purpose. What once felt like obstacles became the foundation of his work today.
He believes that our challenges can either keep us stuck or become the turning point for real transformation. Acupuncture, in his view, is a tool that helps create that movement—supporting the body while guiding patients toward growth, balance, and a stronger connection to themselves.
And while Jacob takes his work seriously, don’t expect a stiff or clinical experience. He brings a light, genuine energy into the room and believes laughter is part of healing too. Outside the clinic, you’ll find him exploring nature, practicing martial arts and fitness, meditating, playing volleyball, diving into offbeat movies and music, and perfecting his love of chocolate chip banana bread.

Hannah Sykes
(She/Her/Hers)
M.Ac., L.Ac.
Hannah Sykes is a modern-day renaissance woman with a passion to create, heal, and teach. From her work as a blacksmith and horseback riding instructor, to home renovator and now a top-notch Acupuncturist to men, women, children and animals; Hannah is always looking to help others grow and thrive.
In 2008 Hannah moved to Maryland to start the Masters of Acupuncture program at TAI Sophia (Now Maryland University of Integrative Health) and reconnected with her now husband Jonathan and his daughter. Just prior to graduating with her master’s degree in Acupuncture Hannah and Jonathan married, then Hannah adopted their now eldest child. Currently, with the addition of their son in 2013 and the youngest daughter 2018 they are a family of five living in Sykesville. With their eldest child stationed out of state as an active member of the U.S. Air Force.
Hannah has been practicing acupuncture for over a decade. At a young age Hannah’s desire to put things right and help people was nurtured by growing up in a family of caregivers, social workers and one Episcopalian Reverend. (To be honest as a young child in New England she wanted to be a witch, growing up near Salem she believed it was a solid professional plan.) Generations of her family have taken their unique skills to better the community and world around them. Her family role models of social workers and reverends instilled the values of a listening, healing, and advising into her DNA. She is a true caregiver; authentic through and through.
To add to her community Hannah volunteered with Sixx Cool Moms to help support and build a community around herself and her family. It takes a village to raise a child, and Hannah wants that village to value joy, laughter and FUN! Her kids are right there with her making the best of every situation. Friends they have made on Historic Sykesville Main Street in Downtown Sykesville, and Cool Moms of Carroll County have been no less than magical. The Pandemic slowed the process of face-to-face encounters, however it added value and appreciation to the online presence she was able to build in Sixx Cool Moms of Carroll County community. Hannah greatly appreciates the relationships and community involvement that occurred during those trying times, that may have otherwise been missed out on or overlooked. She continues to meet with our community and build relationships, rather virtual or interacting with the community on Main Street and around town.
This is an exciting and wild ride we embark on; it’s called life! And Hannah makes it her mission to bring the light to all those she meets.
PS: She sort of became a witch, helping people with her tiny magic wands one Acupuncture pin at a time.
